Coronado Beach at Sunset One of the most beautiful places to watch a sunset in the world, this small island off downtown San Diego is a prime spot. Post up at the Hotel del Coronado and have a picnic as you watch the sky turn into a million colors. SMLXL Hotel del Coronado SMLXL Watching the sunset on Coronado Beach Bar Hopping in Gaslamp Quarter San Diego isn’t all beaches and hiking, there’s a great downtown area, with an even better nightlife! Interested in partying it up? The Gaslamp Quarter is perfect for a night full of memories you will probably forget 🙂 SMLXL C with a friend at Vin De Syrah in Gaslamp Quarter Amplified Ale Works in Pacific Beach Not only is this a brewery full of some of the tastiest beers San Diego’s many breweries (they have a TON) has to offer, but the restaurant portion, Cali Kabob, also has food that is on POINT (I recommend the zucchini chips). You think thats great? They’ve got board games too to really round out your experience. And if you have a similar experience to the one I had, your waiter might even come back and play with you when they get off work! SMLXL Zucchini chips at Amplified Ale Works Kayaking in La Jolla Cove A terrifying experience personally because I’m scared of the ocean, but for those of you that love the outdoors and a bit of an adrenaline rush, La Jolla Cove is a beautiful… View Post

At the end of only my second day, I finally got what all the hype was about. Colorado is literally a playground for people of all ages, especially grown ups. After all the excitement in Vail and on Resolution Mountain, D & I headed back toward the Mile High City, with Chris and a friend in tow. SMLXL C, Chris & D about to head back to Denver from Vail What’s the best thing to do after a long day of outdoor excursions, mud puddles and utter excitement? Indulging in literally the best buffalo wings I’ve ever had. Shoutout to Fire on the Mountain, for literally blowing my mind. If you don’t know this, I’m a bit of a wings connoisseur, and I live in New York, so the last place I expected to have the best ones of my life was in Denver, Colorado. But hands down, they were top notch. In case you didn’t notice, food is a big part of traveling, especially for us Wanderlisters. So after indulging and growing one pant size in wings, I of course had to wash it down with some of Denver’s best ice cream at Little Man Ice Cream. I got a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich that was to die for and let’s just say by the end of the night, I needed to SIT DOWN. SMLXL Ice cream sandwich from Little Man Ice Cream The best part of Denver, other than the weather, the food and the people,… View Post

Meet Christian, a local I like to call the Dominican version of Steven Tyler. Ask him about the infamous lead singer of Aerosmith though, and he will flash a genuine smile, as he tells you he’s never heard of him. Don’t question his honesty because he’s not joking or lying, he just happens to live in a very different world than a lot of us do. A world I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of during my trip to Punta Cana at the end of June. Travel can be a great escape from your 9-5. It’s a chance to truly relax as we flee from those responsibilities that are eagerly waiting back at home for us. I always look forward to those long sunny vacation days spent lounging on white sandy beaches, and cooling off in warm crystal-clear oceans.  This summer I enjoyed the Caribbean while reconnecting with one of my favorite settings in a new place, the Bavaro Beach in the Dominican Republic. SMLXL As much as I love lazy days unwinding by the ocean, there is so much more you can gain from travel. Tell me I can only bring one thing home from my recent trip, and it wouldn’t be a souvenir I bought or a fresh suntan. My memories are always at the top of the list. I can thank the wonderful people I met in Punta Cana for not only teaching me something new, but also, sharing their world with me. People… View Post

There’s nothing like visiting a new place, especially one that’s so different from everywhere else you’ve ever been. So when I set out to Colorado on July 13th, I was more than excited to finally discover what all the hype was about for myself. I’ve had several friends move there within the past year, and being a beach-loving, East coast gal, I couldn’t understand the appeal of living in a landlocked state. Immediately when I was picked up by my friend D at the airport, I could tell. Sure it was too overcast to really see the mountains clearly, but the change in the air, the vibes of the people, and just the overall way of life in Denver seemed to be beaming with positivity. SMLXL C & her friend D at the first stop in Denver – Tacos Tequila Whiskey D picked me up from the airport and we drove back towards the city. She lives in the LoHi neighborhood right across the bridge from downtown. Our first stop? Happy hour and tacos, obviously. What’s another wonderful way to get to know a new place? Food! And Denver does not cease to disappoint! We had delicious margaritas and tacos (pork belly, fried chicken & carnitas to be exact) and some mouthwatering nachos that can easily enter my Top 10 best of all time! SMLXL Best nachos ever at Tacos Tequila Whiskey I arrived in Denver in the evening, so after happy hour and dinner, it was time to go home and call it an… View Post
